Botanical Gardens Townhouse

Project Summary

Providing interior architecture and design services on this project, creating one grand house from two semi detached properties, we completely reimagined the internal space over four floors.

"We instructed Hannah at the very start of the project before the architect was even involved. She worked closely with us and the architect to come up with a design to reconfigure the house throughout for submission for planning, as well as working on all aspects of design and specification for the interior architecture for the house. She is meticulous and is dedicated to ensure the final outcome is spot on!"

Design Concept

Wanting a home that reflected our clients' vibrant personalities and love of mixing colour and pattern, as well incorporating an ambitious ‘wish list’, gave us an exciting challenge.  Our clients wanted this house to be unexpected and would prefer it to divide their guest’s opinions over ever being called bland.

Dining space within the townhouse, styled for entertaining — possibly showing a large table or seating area, giving a sense of warmth and social gathering.
Luxury home cinema room with tiered seating, plush upholstered sofas, integrated LED lighting and a large wall-mounted screen, creating an immersive entertainment space.

Features & Details

Our clients had always wanted to buy the house next door and when the opportunity finally arose this is where the project began.  They wanted to retain features from their original side of the house so that although completely transformed, it still kept that feeling of ‘home’.

We took moulds of the original cornice and replicated it in various scales in the rooms to the front of the house and the existing period doors were reproduced.

As well as honouring the period feel of the house, we also had to sensitively integrate a ‘wish list’ for the house which very much reflected modern day living.  Departing from the classic cinema room style of plain, dark and moody, we chose padded fabric walling in a striking pattern to add personality and texture whilst also having great acoustic properties.
